The coastline is real: Natural Earth 1:10m, in a Mercator fitted to the archipelago. The points are not. A point states a record's connection to a territory, at region precision, not the coordinates of a place. Customary territories are not drawn as closed boundaries, because most of them are not closed, and drawing them so would assert a precision that does not exist.
